Privacy Policy

Ad Gate blocks advertisements, trackers, pop-ups, and related page elements in Safari. Its filtering happens locally on your device.

Data collection

Ad Gate does not collect, sell, rent, or share personal information. It does not transmit your browsing history, visited page addresses, page contents, searches, or blocked-request history to the developer. The app has no account system, analytics, advertising SDK, telemetry, or crash-reporting SDK.

Safari requires Ad Gate to request access to websites so it can apply blocking rules and remove advertising elements. That access is used on-device for the extension’s stated blocking functionality.

Filter updates

The extension periodically requests a signed filter-update file. The request does not include the page you are viewing or your browsing history. As with any internet request, the hosting provider may receive ordinary connection information such as an IP address and user agent under its own privacy policy.

Ad Gate verifies every update cryptographically before applying it. Updates can contain only bounded declarative allow or block rules; they cannot contain executable code.

Local storage

Ad Gate stores its current filter revision, update timing, and validated dynamic rules locally in Safari’s extension storage. Removing the app and extension removes data managed by the operating system according to Apple’s normal app-removal behavior.

Children

Ad Gate is a general-purpose utility and is not directed specifically to children. It does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.
